This developmental and strengthening program, for mom and tot, is done mainly on the physio balls.

The program is designed for babies 6 weeks old through to toddlers 3 years old.
Powertots cc was developed by physiotherapist and mom, Leanne Mc Laren (nee Bossenger). Leanne saw the need for a fun activity that could help children develop strength, including their upper girdle and trunk.
Children are grouped according to their age, and a maximum of 8 parent-tot pairs will form a group. Classes are 30 min long and are done weekly. Activities - including crossing the midline, weight-bearing, rotation, balance, co-ordination, and kinaesthetic awareness - are included in the sessions.
With the younger babies, a lot of class time is spent on mom exercising too - using baby as a weight and doing pilates-type exercises. With the older toddlers, the child participates in the full session, and mom is taught the correct posture on the ball and how to activate her 'core' muscles in order to strengthen while facilitating her child on the ball.
This program is great for any child, especially those with 'low tone' or even 'ADHD'.

Pregnancy (ante-natal) classes on the ball are offered too.
